Surdos
- The surdo drum is the heartbeat of Brazilian samba drumming
- We have a wide variety from several different suppliers such as Gope, RMV, Contemporanea, Meinl etc
- These may have metal or wood shells and come in a variety of sizes from 12 to 24 inches diameter. (drum sizes are stated in a mxture of inches and centimetres for historical reasons. There are so many drums still in existence which were made in inches, or are manufactured in countries where metric measurements haven't reached, that drum heads have been kept on the 'Imperial' scale
- Surdo drums may be 60cm, 50cm or even 45cm high
