Description
The large bowl is filled partly with water; the smaller bowl is placed upside down floating on the water, and played either by hand or with a padded mallet. The water level influences the pitch.
The insides and outised of the gourd bowls are lacquered, giving a “warm and rich sound” described as an “under-water bass”.
After playing, empty out the water, wipe dry, then store in a well-ventilated place. For frequent use they recommend adding further coats of boat-lacquer for longevity.
