
KOW Ewe Drum - Atsimevu with Sticks and Stand

Ewe drumming refers to the drumming ensembles of the Ewe people. The Ewe are known for their experience in drumming throughout West Africa.
Atsimevu (pronounced ah-chee-meh-voo) is the tallest of the Ewe drums, the drum is made with a wooden body and animal hide drum head. Due to its height, the atsimevu is leaned over a stand on one side of the drum, can be played with either two wooden sticks or one hand and one stick. The atsimevo makes a middle range sound with some bass in the sound.
