Product overview

These large Tongue drums are made out of padauk. They have a deep and earthy sound varying from powerful to gentle, depending on whether you play the instrument with a drum stick, your hand or your fingers. If you lie on top of the drum while it is played you feel the rhythm vibrating through your body

Tenor Tongue Drum Padouk d-minor pentatonic  100 x 30 x 35 cm

This smaller of the two couch drums has a full sound and a strong tone. The large resonant body and the long tongues harmonise perfectly. As a percussion melody instrument it is great for music therapy sessions.

Couch tongue drums are suitable for kids and adults to sit at both ends of the body and play together. The tongue drums have feet on one side which makes it possible to flip the drum over, so a child can lay on top. The tongues can then be played on the side of the instrument

In both positions the drum can be played with mallets or hands and fingers. All couch Tongue Drums have grip holes on the side for better transportation. The selected and air-dried Padouk wood from Nigeria comes from controlled and certified farming and harvesting. Certificate on request.

Mallet included
